Biography

Oliver Clapp was a son of Ebenezer & Catherine (Catlin) Clapp.

Oliver married first Martha Edwards, 25 July 1781 at Northampton, Massachusetts [1]. At least two children are documented of this marriage:

Martha died in 1785; thereafter Oliver married second, Dorcas (Clap; 1756-1815). One child is evident:

Oliver's second wife died in 1815. On 18 February 1818 at Granby, Massachusetts, Oliver married third, Irene Montague Smith (1797 - 1819) [4]. The record states that Irene also was widowed at the time of this marriage.

Oliver Clapp died 26 February 1819 at Westhampton, and was buried at Center Cemetery, Westhampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts [5].
