Biography

Mary Clapp was born the 6th of March, 1696/97, at Scituate, Plymouth County, Massachusetts Bay, the daughter of Joseph Clapp and Abigail Allen.[1]

She married, as his second wife, William Hodges on the 2nd March, 1720/21, at Scituate,[2] & is styled, Mary Hodges in the Will of her father, Joseph, dated the 14th of November, 1740.[3]

Their children were: Job b. 1721, Elijah b. 1724/5, Abijah b, 1728 & Mary b, 1731/2 all at Taunton.[4]

She is not the Mary Clapp that married Caleb Torrey.

Clapp-1568 and Clapp-2274 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicate. I created Mary with a calendar corrected year, 1696/97 & added her parents.
