Biography

John CLAPP Sr. was born on 8 January 1753 in Probably NC.

He Executed a Deed in May 1778 in Orange Co., NC.20 May Court Term 1778 (1128 -40- folio 20) The Execution of a Deed from John Clap & Judeth Clap to John Allbright was was (sic) duly proved in open Court by the Oath of Lodwick Clap and Ordered to be Registered.

He died on 13 December 1813 at the age of 60 in Alamance Co., NC. Buried at Stoner's Church Cemetery.

John CLAPP Sr. and Judith FOUST were married on 11 December 1777 in Orange Co., NC.47 See page 13 of the ACB Families book for more. Marriage bond is in book D-F/0001.09. Judith FOUST, daughter of Johannes Heinrich FOUST and Anna Barbara ALBRIGHT, was born on 1 August 1754 in Berks Co., PA.47 She signed a will on 22 March 1823 in Orange Co., NC.47,48 Judy Clapp - "Children of my daughter Barbara, formerly wife of John Powell." Son: John. Daughters: Caty, wife of John Hobbs, Sophia, wife of Jacob Foust. Executor: son John Clapp. Witnesses: Joel C. Yancy, Wm. Smith. She died on 2 December 1823 at the age of 69 in Orange Co., NC. Will proven for name at place on date.48 Will Book E-99

John CLAPP Sr. and Judith FOUST had the following children:
