Cephas Clapp (1788-1863), son of Elijah Clapp and Azubah Ross. Cephas married Hannah Spooner in Massachusetts in 1815. They had eight children, six sons and two daughters, born between 1815 and 1837. Cephas died, aged 64, on 5 August 1853 in Warren, Massachusetts. [1] [2]

Also living with them was Phebe Clapp, 48 (uncertain relation). All members of the household were born in Massachusetts. Elbert Clapp was a farmer. His property was valued at $1500.[7]
