DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with George by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with George:

Hello, I stumbled onto this website about the church and Clapp family history. I am trying to solve the mystery of my great grandmother's origins. She was a orphan born around 1900. She remembers living in a orphanage somewhere near Greensboro NC. The first time she shows in the census is 1920 living as a orphan with the Donnell family in Oak Ridge, Guilford county. By the late 1920's or early 30's she had moved to New Bern NC, where she married and lived the rest of her life. She went by Sadie and thought her last name was either Clapp or Carroll. She also used the middle name Nora.

I have done ancestry DNA and I seem to be matching with other people that share Tobias Clapp and his father Valentine Clapp.
