Walter Clare was a member of the aristocracy in England.

According to Sanders Walter fitz Richard had the barony of Chepstow, which had previously been held by Earl William fitz Osbern and his son who both died before 1086. Walter died without issue and his lands passed to his nephew Gilbert fitz Gilbert de Clare, Earl of Pembroke.
