Biography

Aveline de Clare married, firstly, Sir William de Munchensey, son of Warin de Munchensey and Agnes FitzJohn, before 1186. They had 2 sons:[1][2][3]

She married, secondly, Sir Geoffrey FitzPiers, 4th Earl of Essex, Chief Justiciar of England, Constable of the Tower of London, Sheriff of Northamptonshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Westmorland, Hampshire, & Shropshire, son of Piers de Lutegareshale and Maud de Mandeville, between 7 May 1204 and 29 May 1205. They had 1 son & 4 daughters:[1][3][4][5][6][7]

  1. Sir John
  2. Hawise, wife of Sir Reynold de Mohun
  3. Cecily, wife of Savary de Bohun
  4. Unnamed daughter, wife of William de la Rochelle
  5. Maud, wife of Henry d'Oilly, & of Sir William de Cantelowe

She died circa 4 June 1225.[1]
