Christopher was born in Missouri in 1848 to Thomas Clark and Elizabeth Davis.

Columbus served from 30 April 1864 to 4 October 1864 as a private in the 69th Regiment, Missouri Militia (Union).

He married Susan Overall in Kentucky in 1870.[1]
