Biography

Sarah Anna CLARK was born on 19 Jul 1879 in Alamance, North Carolina (NC), United States. She was the daughter of Edwin Clark and Fannie E. Cates. [1] In 1880, Sarah is living on her parents' farm in Thompson, Alamance, NC with her sister, Janette. [2] Between 1900 and 1920, Anna is living with her widowed mother in Thompson, Alamance, NC, then Chapel Hill, Orange, NC. Her occupation in 1900 is "Cotton Mill Spool." In 1910, she is employed as a winder in a cotton mill; In 1920, as a spooler. [3] [4] [5] In 1930, Anna is living with her sister, May in Carrboro, and still employed as a spooler in a cotton mill. [6] In 1940, Anna, 60, is the head of the household. She has no occupation. Her nephew, Ollie, and his family are living with her. He is a salesman for a filling station. [7]

In 1957, Anna is living with her husband, Grover Cleveland Brookbank, in Chapel Hill, Orange, NC. [8]

Anna passed away on 19 Jul 1879 in Orange, NC. [9] She is buried in the Westwood Cemetery in Carrboro, Orange, NC along with her husband. [10]
