Biography

Hannah Clark

Marriage record to Daniel Zelif/Zeluff are from St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Richmond county, Staten Island, NY, on June 2, 1754. [1]

Hannah is named in the will of her husband Daniel Zeluff, which was written on March 3, 1777, and proved on May 20, 1778. They lived in Newark, New Jersey, and Hannah was permitted to live in the house in Newark after her husband Daniel died. There are many variations to the spelling of her husband's last name.

A Hannah "Zeloff" was listed in the Feb. 1780 New Jersey tax ratables living in Newark Twp., Essex county, residency 032. This was also the same address as son Benjamin "Zelof", who was also assessed. No baptismal records have emerged for Hannah.

Mentioned as a grandchild of Ebenezer Lyon in her grandfather's will, dated 1739, naming her as his grandchild and daughter of Elizebeth Lyon and Ephraim Clark.

Descendants name a Matthew Beale as a "possible" SECOND husband of Hannah Clark(e).
