Leona Grace Clark was the daughter of Herbert Clark and Margaret Matthews Clark. She was born in the town of Russell Vermont. Both of her family lines were the founders and doers of that small village. She was born in a farm house in a community called Clarks Corners. She was a bit of a dapper flapper and probably shocked that rural farming community with her Ideas. She volunteered as a young woman for factory work in World war one located in Connecticut. She went to Connecticut to work at age 18 and stayed in a boarding house there. She met and married Harold Walling Kennedy who was 20 years her senior. Her husband a native of Vermont, took her to Waterbury to live on part of his family farm (part belonging to his uncle Kimball Kennedy). After her son went to serve in WW2, the Kennedy's moved back to her home town of Russell NY. After her husband died in 1952 she remarried Verne Moussaw. She suffered from osteoporosis and in later years dementia. She lived in a house bought for her by her son Mark Clark Kennedy in Florida. Her daughter Betty Talbert lived with her until her death. Her remains are interred with her husband in Russell NY. She also has a memorial stone with her 2nd husband Verne.
