Biography

John Tucker Clark married in Campbell Virginia then moved to Logan Kentucky later in life. John Tucker’s mom, Margaret, died in Logan Co. Kentucky. I'm thinking she went to live with her son after the death of her husband. I would expect to find her husband, Edward Bowling Clark(born 1788) in the Clark cemetery in Campbell Virginia with his parents.

Better proof of lineage however is the Clark Family Bible located in the Virginia library which should verify that John Tucker Clark was indeed John Clark’s grandson (son of Micajah Sr.). There are pages in this bible documenting the births and deaths of these Virginia Clarks. I found a post with details taken from the bible on the internet. These details have Edward Bowling Clark’s ( born 1788) birth/death, his grandfather as well as his great grandfather and his great great grandfather. The bible also documents John Tucker Clark’s birth and death. Ancestry.com has scanned pages from the bible. I don’t have an account on Ancestry.com so I can’t see these scanned pages myself. Page 442 of the Daughters of the American Revolution Magazine, Volume 94 may have the family lineage from this bible. I saw just a snippet of the page on the internet with John Tucker’s information but could not view the entire page.

The Bible of John CLARK (son of Micajah Sr.) is located in the Library of VA and also appears, I believe, on one of the FTM CDs. According to Virginia Bible Records by Jeannette Holland Austin, 1987, John and Mary (Moore) had a son, Edward Bowling Clark 3/3/1788. Edward B. "apparently married" Margaret Horton Maddux, dau of William Maddux, b. 7/25/1796 FOR "Births of Children of Edward B. and Margaret H. Clark" is written immediately below the line beginning Margaret Horton.... Those children are:

John Tucker Clark 10/10/1816 Mary Evalina Clark 2/22/1818 William Maddux Clark 2/1/1820 James Martin Clark 9/6/1822 Edward Granville Clark 8/17/1824 Thomas Craven Clark 9/20/1826 Micajah Snowden Clark 2/7/1829

Under Deaths, Edward B. Clark b. 3/3/1788 d. 8/10/1835. It doesn't say where he died. Edward's grandparents are Micajah Clark Sr. and Judith Adams and his gr-grandparents are Christopher Clark/Penelope Johnson. The only problem Jim will have, that I'm aware of <g>, is birthdate for John Clark. This Bible gives one date/Micajah Clark Sr's Bible another -- both are transcriptions of the original. Micajah's is the one we really need, for it is the contemporary record of his birth and is also apparently lost. But Jim, right now there is nothing on my webpage about John Clark -- haven't gotten to children of Micajah Sr. yet aside from my husband's Micajah Jr. I'm hoping descendants of the other children will write those reports to share with the genealogical community. Does anyone have information on the above family. Edward Bolling Clark was born Mar. 3, 1788 in Campbell co., Va and died abt. 1835. He married margaret Maddox in Campbell Co., VA on Nov. 18, 1815. I have reason to believe that they migrated to Logan Co., KY. What Clark family does he belong to? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Martha Hinchee, age 16, born in Kentucky. Living nearby in 1850 was the family of brother James.3 Also living in Logan County, Kentucky in 1850 was Sarah's father,4 and also a Samuel K. Hinchey.
