DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Benjamin by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
My tree has the parents of John Hunter Clark (1805-1848) as James Hugh Clark (1763, Danville, VA - 1836, Newport, Cocke, TN) and Cindarilla Cassandra Davis (1770 NC - bef1872, NC). I could be wrong. Seems unlikely that Ms. Davis would die at over 100 yrs old in NC having been in TN earlier, but NC census records seem to bear this out in 1850 and 1860, unless the names are totally confused--which is also possible.
Yeah, I thought it seemed odd also. I put all the info I could find. My grandma Lillie Hays has now passed, so it is difficult. I am working on another line atm, but if anything comes up I will certainly add it. If you want to be a profile manager on these accounts, let me know. I think you have to request it on wiki? Or send me your email address? Been a while. I wish there were more of me. Lol. You could be right about the middle name. It could also be two different people,.. as we come across more info hopefully we solve the mystery.
