Biography

Captain Thomas CLARK I was born 05 May 1700 in Milford, New Haven, Connecticut. He was christened 5 May 1700 in Milford, New Haven, CT.

He died 6 Jun 1774 in Oxford, New Haven, Connecticut, United States.

Thomas married Susanna WOODRUFF on 15 Dec 1725 in Milford, Milford, New Haven, Connecticut.

Thomas Clark was born to Samuel Thomas Clark and Mehitable (Phippen) Clark on May 5, 1700 in Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut. He was baptized at First Church of Milford. He married Susannah Woodruff on December 15, 1725 in Milford. Thomas and Susannah had seven children, Thomas Clark, Isaac Clark, Nathan Clark, Susanna Clark, Mehitable Clark, Esther Clark, and Mary Clark.

After the death of Susannah in 1742, Thomas had a second marriage to Sarah Newton in Milford about 1745. Thomas and Sarah had three children, Samuel Clark, Sarah Clark, and Elias Clark.

He was the Justice of the Peace from 1746 to 1764 and then worked as the Deputy for Milford in the General Assembly until 1765. Thomas also served in the Connecticut Militia in the Milford First Company as a Lieutenant and promoted to Captain in May 1750.

Thomas died on June 6, 1774 at age 74 years, 1 month, and 1 day old in Milford. He was buried in Milford Cemetery in Milford.
