Biography

1776 Project
Asa Clark served with 3rd Continental Regiment, Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Asa Clark was born 20 November 1763 according to his application for a pension as a Revolutionary War veteran, filed in Probate Court in Framingham, Massachusetts, on 29 August 1832. He said that he was 68 years old as of the previous November 20th and was a resident of Sherburne, Massachusetts. He testified that in March 1781 he enlisted in the Third Regiment of the Massachusetts line of the Continental Army and served as a private until the end of 1783, when he was honorably discharged. [1]

Mehetibel (Mehitable) Esty of Natick, Massachusetts, was married to Asa Clark of Sherborn, Massachusetts, in Natick, Massachusetts, on 23 May 1793.[2][3]

Asa Clark, widower, aged 82 years, 8 months, 27 days, died from cancer at Sherburne, Massachusetts on 17 August 1846. According to the death record, he was born at Sherburne, the son of Samuel and Sarah Clark, and was a farmer.[4]
