Asa Clark was a son of Asa Clark and his wife Polly, born in Halifax, Vermont on 26 December 1779.[1][2] His mother is identified as Mary "Polly" Stewart, born 21 May 1753 in Halifax, Vermont.
Asa Clark, Jr., and Betsey Dalrymple were married on 7 March 1805 in Halifax, Vermont. Jesse Edson, Minister of Gospel, was the officiant.[3]
Hamilton Child's 1890 Gazetteer of Jefferson County, New York, states that Asa Clark and his wife, Betsey Dalrymple went to town of Rutland in that county from Halifax, Vermont, in 1806, and settled on a farm where Asa made a clearing and built a log cabin in 1804. As of 1890, the farm was occupied by their grandson, Christopher P. Clark.[4]

Two other children died before reaching adulthood.[4]
Asa died on 2 March 1854, in Jefferson County, New York, at the reported age of 74 years, 2 months, 4? days. He was buried in Clark Cemetery, Rutland, New York. [5][6]
Asa Clark of Rutland, Jefferson County, New York, made his will on 24 February 1854. Copy of his will posted on Ancestry.com by member ledgerphillips lists wife Betsey and children Asa Clark, Jr.; Prudence Poor; Almanda Clark; Lucena Poor; and Nancy Mathews. The will also directed bequests to nephew James J? W?are, brother in law Benjamin Alrech?, and sister Eunice Davis.[7]
