Biography
Sarah was born in 1790 in North Carolina. Sarah's parents were Captain John Clark and Mary Spencer.
In 1850 Sarah and Noah Rush lived in Randolph County, North Carolina. Sarah's age is given as 45 which is off about 5 years. There is a 19 and a 17 year old still living at home. Sarah is indexed as L Rush but this has been corrected to S Rush.[1]
Sarah and Noah Rush are enumerated on the 1860 census living in Randolph County, North Carolina. Sarah is 70 years old and Noah is 82. Sarah says she was born in North Carolina. [2]
By 1880 Sarah is a widow, is 89 years old and is living with her daughter, Martha and her family in Tabernacle, Randolph County, North Carolina. Sarah (Sally) is marked as being blind. This is the last census where Sarah appears as she died in 1883. [3]
She passed away 8 April 1883 and is buried in the Mount Gilead Church Cemetery, Trinity, Randolph County, North Carolina. [4]
