Several noted genealogists name Samuel's parents as: Husband: James Clark and his first wife who was unnamed in the New England records.[1][2][3][4]
Others, citing only unsourced compiled and often self-referential genealogies, propose that his parents were Samuel Clarke of Southampton, Long Island and Hannah Fordham his wife.
Upon a review of all documentation assembled by a Puritan Great Migration volunteer team, the PGM project has determined that his parentage will be reflected as that attached to this profile. The summary of the relevant genealogical research may be found here.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Samuel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Samuel:
I just tried to google "Clarke-21786 wikitree" and nothing comes up for Samuel Clarke or Samuel Clark. Can you please provide the full URL (http://...etc) so that we can determine similarity? Thank you!
Clark-9611 and Clark-553 appear to represent the same person because: These two men are definitely the same and must be merged. The parents on Clark-553 will be maintained. The other set of parents will be linked in the biography.
The Samuel Clark with the birthdate listed as 1654 was born in Boston, MA. Clark-9611 was born in CT. There is no birth year listed for him in his marriage record to Hannah Tuttle. Birth years for Clark-9611, son of Samuel and Hannah (Fordham) Clark are listed as about 1646 or about 1650.
The ancestry of William Francis Joseph Boardman, Hartford, ... Boardman, William Francis Joseph, 1828-1912. https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=loc.ark:/13960/t7wm1b70n;view=1up;seq=331 appears to state there are estate papers for father James stating sons James and Samuel were estate administrators. Can we find the original document citation?
I have a marriage resource that lists Samuel Clark married to 1) Hannah Tuttle. There is no other wife, or 2nd wife listed for him. Just above his this listing is that of Samuel Clark Sr. and Hannah Fordham. I will post these AFTER I return from Boston in June. I will be going to the NEHGS to work with a genealogist there on Clark-9611 and his parents Samuel Sr. and Hannah Fordham, and to search for more information on Clark-553 and James Clark. Thank you, Carol Baldwin (Baldwin-3428)
Clark is a very common name. No merge should be made between Clark-9611 and Clark-553 there are too many discrepancies. If you disagree prove it with actual documents.
