Biography

1776 Project
Sergeant Jesse Clark served with Polk's Regiment of Light Dragoons, South Carolina Militia during the American Revolution.

Jesse Clark was born 29 Nov 1756 in Chester, Pennsylvania. He was a Revolutionary War Soldier.[1][2][3]

Sgt. Jesse Clark served with brothers, Adj. John Clark, and Lt. Jonas Clark, in the Revolutionary War under Capt. James N. Martin in the 3rd regiment, commanded by Col. William Polk and in Sumter's Brigade (Thomas Sumter (1734-1832)).[1]

He married Deborah (Alexander) Clark after the war about 1785 in Mecklenburg, North Carolina.[1][2][3]

Jesse died 2 Sep 1832 in Mecklenburg, North Carolina. He is buried at Steel Creek Presbyterian Church.[4][5]
