P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.
I read your note in "Communication References," and I wanted to say that I joined WikiTree for the same reason. I got tired of duplicating other people's family trees, It was almost claustrophobic at times. On the other hand, this is a great community with as much interaction as you wish. There is the G2G forum for dead ends or interesting bits and plenty of opportunity to help others, which I enjoy tremendously.
What's more, moving here was something of a clean start for me. When I started on Ancestry, I thought that all of their sources were primary and vetted. Alas. I was mistaken, and my earlier Ancestry profiles do not have good support. I've been building better profiles on WikiTree.
Bottom line, I hope you enjoy it here as much as we do.
:)

PS If you add your surname and other surnames/locations you are researching to your tags, you can connect to other members researching those names/places. The more of these clickable tags you add (20 max.) that include surnames, locations, periods of history or other genealogical interests, the more connections you will make and maybe find a few cousins! To add tags, use this link. This page will help you learn more about tags.
