Biography

Sicy Clark is a part of US Black heritage.

Sicy was was likely born about 16-18 years before 1863. We know that in December of 1862 he was owned by George W. Clark, and that he was on loan to the Confederate Army as labor for unknown projects near Richmond, Virginia.

From the Confederate Slave Payrolls- Payroll 1, Madison Co., Virginia:

"This payroll acknowledges that J. B. Stanard, 1st Lieutenant, Corps of Engineers, paid certain Madison County, Virginia, slave owners for work performed by their slaves near Richmond, Virginia, from December 1862 to March 1863.

Slave owner George W. Clark provided slaves named Henry and Sicy."
