Marshall J Clark Jr. was born about 1809 in Edgartown, Massachusetts to Marshall Clark (Sr.) and Naomi Swazey. He married Elizabeth T Kenney of New Bedford, Massachusetts in 1831.[1][2] They would have six children. Marshall was a cooper by profession.
It is unknown when Marshall died, but by the 1855 Massachusetts state census, Elizabeth and her unmarried children are living with her parents[3], and she is recorded as head of household in the 1860 U.S. census.[4] An entry in the 1856 New Bedford City Directory lists her as “Clark Elizabeth T. widow”.[5] Presumably, he died sometime between the birth of their last child in 1850 and the 1855 census.
