Captain Scotto Clark III was born in 1745 or 1746 in Harwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts United States. He was the son of Scotto Clark and Thankful (Crosby) Clark. He married Sarah (Griffiths) Clark.
He was a sea captain and soldier of the Revolutionary War. In 1797, while in his fifties, Scotto, his wife, and children, together with his brother, Barnabas, his wife, and children, traveled with their families from Harwich and Cape Cod, to Westminster, Vermont by ox–cart. This journey lasted fourteen days. He passed away in 1836 in Westminster, Windham County, Vermont, United States.
His daughter Mehitabel married Benjamin Smith. Scotto's line goes back through father Scotto to Andrew Clarke, son of Thomas Clarke, the son of John Clarke. See Clark-8233 for the rest of his genealogy.
