Biography

Sarah Clark was born in 1673/74, the daughter of Josiah Clark and Mercy Boynton.[1] She was married 2 Jan. 1700/01 at Rowley, MA to Nathaniel Bailey.[2]

The couple had seven children, born in Rowley, MA:

  1. Joseph, b. 17 Oct. 1701; m. Sarah Jewett
  2. Nathaniel, b. 27 Oct. 1703; m. Mary Worcester, 25 Jul, 1726
  3. Josiah, b. 3 Nov. 1705; m. Elizabeth Stevens, 31 Oct. 1728
  4. David, b. 11 Nov. 1707; m1. Mary Hodgkins; m2. Mehitable Smith
  5. Samuel, b. 25 Nov. 1709; m. Jane Wyatt
  6. Mercy, b. 21 Mar. 1711/12; m. James Bailey
  7. Sarah, b. 18 Nov. 1719; d. 26 Jun. 1736, age 16.

Sarah lost her husband suddenly in 1722, at the age of only 47. She married a second time 8 Mar. 1726/27 at Rowley, MA to John Stewart.[3]

Sarah Stewart died 7 Feb. 1748/49 at Rowley, MA, age 75.
