Philo is a bit of a mystery woman. There is hardly any substantiated information about her. She is mentioned almost in passing, but I found no actual records. I came upon her death notice quite by accident. The Michigan connection almost led me to ignore it. The record is a two-page spread document in transcription. If you open the link and go to the original, you must change the page number at the top to see the second page of info, which makes the connection to her birth family. The record notes she was a 'farmer's wife' with no indication of her husband's given name. Perhaps they were part of the westward expansion. It will be interesting to discover.
There is a FAG memorial, with tombstone photo, for a Phila Porter wife of Thomas Porter who died March 18, 1876 and was buried in Novi, Michigan (Knapp Cemetery). # 10285303
