Biography
According to his war service file, Allan Leslie Clarke was born 5th December 1920, at Fitzroy, Victoria. However, it appears he added a few years so he'd be eligible for enlistment. His parents are Augustus Clarke and Annie Dunne. [1]

About 1950, in Victoria, Allan married Esther Lorraine Simpkins [3]
Allan's occupation was a hand clicker in the Boot trade. He was respected and much sort after in the trade for his skills.
After being widowed, in 1968 he married Beryl Marshall (Bevis)
Allan passed away 28th May 1976, aged 52. His death was registered Heidelberg West, Victoria, with his birthplace given as Melbourne, and his parents indexed as Augustus Edward Clarke and Annie Elizabeth Dunne. [4]
Following a service held 31st May, his remains were interred in the Roman Catholic section of the Fawkner Cemetery, where he was reunited with Essie. Whilst a plaque is set at the foot of the grave for her, he has a bronze military plaque at the head of their grave. [5] [6] It reads...
