Biography

Alan Jack, son of Francis Edward Clarke and Alice Charlotte Leeper of Montreal was born May 26, 1921. He was baptized on November 27, 1921 at St Simon Anglican Church in Montreal.[1]

A Jack Clarke married Vivian P Murdoch on November 26, 1945. They resided in Lethbridge, Alberta and Winnipeg, Manitoba before moving to Vancouver in 1955. [2]

Pilot Alan Clarke died in an aircraft crash on Mount Slesse in British Columbia on 9 Dec 1956.[3][4]

All 62 people on board Trans-Canada Air Lines Flight 810-9 died, making it one of the deadliest air disaster in Canadian history. The debris was not located until May of 1957, over 5 months after the crash. The wreckage and remains of the passengers and crew were left on the mountain at the crash site.

A memorial to the passengers and crew was erected on Slesse Road in Chilliwack, British Columbia.[5]
