1790 Edgefield County, South Carolina, census, p. 512:[2]
Lewis Clark, 1-3-3 (I have not identified Lewis, yet.) Numerous Clark families in this census.
Shade Dees 1-4-5.
Shadrack Shade Dees (1753-1797), is the father of Rebecca Dees (1778-1795). According to Historical Southern Families,[3] Edited by Mrs. John Bennett Boddie; Rebecca Dees is the first wife of Nehemiah Posey, Jr. (1769-1843). And if true, Nehemiah Posey, Jr's second wife is Mary Elizabeth Friday.
Lemuel "Lemon" Posey (1798-1860) appears to be the son of Bennett Thomas Posey (1762-1833). Bennett Thomas Posey was born in Charles County, Md.
Lemuel Posey, it seems, does not come from the South Carolina Poseys.
Lemuel Posey is in the 1850 Barbour County, Alabama census. (Fillingim family also lived in Barbour County.)

__________
Granny was captured by the Indians.[6] (Need verification.)
"The tradition heard in one part of the family that 'Granny' was captured by Indians, became the wife of an Indian chief, bore him two children, then escaped."
Which Granny?
"If the story came thru Mary Ann E. (Revel) Dyess, Ashberry, did she mean Granny Revel, Granny Posey, Granny Dyess, or Granny Ashberry?"
"Or did she mean her grandmother Revel, (the mother of James Revel born 1817). The one that married a Walden. If so, she must have married a Walden before she married James Revel's father."
"If the story is true of James Revel's mother (Granny Revel), then what became of the 1/2 Indian children?"
"If the story applies to James Revel's wife- Polly Posey, then it must have happen before their marriage, for there is no four-year gap in their children's ages- unless her first two children were 1/2 Indian, and not the children of James Revel."
"Mary "Polly" Posey was born 1814-1817.... She would have been about 25 when her daughter Mary Ann was born...."
"Mary "Polly" Posey could have been the wife of an Indian Chief prior to her marriage to James Revel." (I added some clarification, but nothing of Jane Revel's letter was altered.)
For more information on Native Americans in the area, see:
On Mrs. Axline Posey's Widow's Pension Application, 1910-1911, Taylor County, it states M. (Miar) Posey enlisted at Butler, Taylor County, in August 1863.[9]
Private Miar (Nehemiah) Posey was in Major Augustus Bonard's Battalion, 28th Battalion, Georgia Siege Artillery, Company D.
