The Douglas Register states that Joseph Clarke married Hannah Hutchinson, daughter of Mathew and Ellender Hutchison, in the St. James Nothern Parish--Dover Church, 25 December, 1753. This register also lists the children of this marriage along with their birth dates and the date of their baptism.

↑ Taken from a copy of the Douglas Register. The Reverend Douglas came to the St. James Nothern Parish in Goochland County, Virginia, 12 September 1750. He kept an accurate record of all the marriages, births, deaths and baptisms up until 1797. This church is called the Dover church, orginally the English Church, built 11 Febraury, 1720--the first in Goochland County.
