Disambiguation

There were at least four Thomas Clarks in early Ipswich records, two different pairs of fathers and sons, both referred to as Thomas Clark, Sr & Thomas Clark, Jr. This profile refers to Thomas Clark, Sr, cooper (or carpenter). His son Thomas Clark, Jr was a tailor. He was also Thomas Clark of Noodle Island in 1661 when his daughter Sarah married George Hiskett.

The other family was Thomas Clark (abt.1613-1690), Sr, tanner sometimes referred to as Sgt. His son Thomas Clark, Jr was also a tanner.

Biography

Thomas was born about 1607 and resided in Ipswich. He was a carpenter. Wife's name was Grace. Brother to Edward Clark (1622-aft.1710) of Haverhill.[1] He passed away before his will was proved 30 Jun 1691.

In his will names son Josiah Clark, daughter Sarah Hisket, Abigail, relict of son Thomas, deceased, friends Lt. John Appleton and John Whipple.
