Alice Clarke was born in Camberwell, London, in 1844. [1] She was the daughter of Henry Brydges Clarke and his wife Sophia Ann Stracey who was the daughter of [[Stracey-81| Rev. Sir G Stracey, Bart ]
Alice was with her father in Hove at the censuses of 1871 and 1881: This is clearly the same person as born in Camberwell: Apparently the splendid middle names Augusta Charlotte have been borrowed for the smart marriage. [2] [3]
George Evatt Acklom married a second time in Brighton, Hove, England when he was 49 but he was to die within the year. [4] [5]
Alice had lived for just under a year as George Evatt Acklom's wife and she lived on for only 3 years as his widow. dying early in 1888 age about 43, still in the Hove area and probably still in Holland Road, in one of the houses she had lived in with her father and her husband. [6]
