Through the Private Message System, I was sent the following message:

"I have a bit of info that you may find useful in your writing about Lucy Clarkson. It gives you Jonas's parents.

Her family is on the 1861 Census for Stanley, NB. Jonas 43, head of household, English, school teacher, with Rebecca 35, Lucy F 13, Alfred 5 and Emma 1.

On the 1851 Census for Stanley, NB is William Clarkson 60, millwright and farmer, Sarah 63, Jonas 31, school master, Thomas 28, shoemaker. William 'entered the colony' in 1844 and Jonas in 1843. Also in the household is Frances Horncastle 26, daughter, William Clarkson 24 and John 22. In another household is James 34, carpenter, Margaret 35, Maryanne 11, William 9, Jonas 7, John 4 and Sarah 1.

I am working on stories on the 125 Stanley men who were in WW I and are on the Stanley cenotaph. There are 4 Clarkson soldiers, 2 of whom died during the war. It is interesting to try and figure out how they are related."

It was very helpful information for anybody else who may be searching. :)

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
