Biography

The son of James Starr Clawson and Phebe Woodward. He was united in marriage to Miss Rebecca Hoover on 27 Oct 1859 per 1840-1935 Kansas marriage records. Both Asa Garrett and his wife Rebecca died of Typhoid Fever in Strawn,Coffey Co., KS. ~ The graves of Asa Garrett Clawson and Rebecca Hoover Clawson were relocated to Bowman cemetery in Coffey County, KS around 1961 when the John Redmond reservoir was built by the Corps of Engineers. Their tombstone is located in the SW corner.
