DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:

It appears a merge was "completed" but the information was either not consolidated or perhaps the person isn't finished/ didn't know where to place it. I was going to help but realized I do not know where certain specifics like the image credit (currently at the bottom of the bio) belong.

I am happy to help with anything and wanted to again thank everyone who is working in this profile of our ancestors as it has some great content :) Cheers! Becky Elizabeth

Why would these be rejected unless trying to not take in a new person who created a profile without maybe checking standards and styles? Either way I respect ALL of you as project managers and look to you as leaders on here. The problem with not accepting it is that there are now duplicates with no sourcing for the family line and growing. These are my direct ancestors too and I really don't want to see other people not getting the right family information by following the wrong profile/ now sets of profiles. Perhaps someone can intervene and better explain things? Thank you for any help and assistance. The same thing has been happening to profiles I've spent 2 years on or more lately. Thank You, Becky Elizabeth

William Clay was my 6th great grandfather and when my husband and I attended our first Clay Family Gathering, we found out that people were claiming that William Clay was married to Martha Runyon which is not true as she married another William Clay and Martha Runyon was born in the 1800's. No way that William Clay could have been married to Martha Runyon. I have not found many people that have Martha Ann Lewis married to William Clay but his marriage links whoever great grandparents are to Martha Ann Lewis should be related to Fielding Lewis who married George Washington's sister Betty, which should be linked to being related to George Washington. My 3rd great grandmother Julina Witten Clay was married to John Carter Ball, which his family of course being related to the Ball's shows that George Washington was my 2nd cousin 7 times removed as of course his mother was Mary Ball. I'm glad to found somebody that can show that William Clay was married to Martha Ann Lewis and not Martha Runyon.

The bio contains the text from the Will of Mitchell Clay, who appears to be his son, not the person of this profile.

If the battle of Point Pleasant is considered the first battle of the American Revolution, then William Clay should hold the distinction of being the the first to give his life for A government of the citizens.
