Biography

Amos Clay was born on 27 Nov 1842 [1]in Scipio Township, Seneca County, Ohio to John and Ellen (Heater) Clay. Census Records show that Amos lived on his father's farm through the age of 22[2] [3] On 6 January 1865 in Seneca County, Ohio, Amos married [4][5][6] Amos and Malinda lived in Scipio Township, Seneca County on their farm throughout their lives.[7][8][9][10]

Amos and Malinda had five children:

1. Wallace Montgomery Clay, b. 1865 m. Ada Patterson[11]
2. Dessie E. Clay, b. 1868, m. George Raymond[12]
3. Adelbert Clay, b. 1870 m. Flora Hall, 1896[13], m. Mary K. Lisle, 1913[14]
4. Ada E. Clay, b. 4 Jan 1872[15]
5. John W. Clay, b. 1878 m. 1903, Murl E. Wurtz[16]


Amos died on 27 Nov 1915, Venice, Seneca County, Ohio [17] and was buried in the Attica/Venice Cemetery. [18]
