Phillip was born on March 24, 1889 in Montgomery County, Kansas. Phillip married Esther Ruth Beathe on October 25, 1913 in Montgomery County, Kansas. On June 5, 1917, Phillip signed a U. S. World War I Draft Registration Card and stated that he tall and slender with grey eyes and brown hair. He was 29 Years old at the time and married with two children. His occupation was farming. He passed away in April 1966 and buried in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, Montgomery County, Kansas.[1]
