Biography

Lambert Clayton was born in 1755 in Kent Delaware, he was the son of George Clayton and Sarah Lambert Dodson. He served during the American Revolution attaining the Rank of Colonel. He married Sarah Davidson in 1782, They had nine known children.

Lambert Clayton was also a preacher and one of the founders of the French Broad Baptist Association. This organisation was responsible for establishing churches in the less settled areas of Old Buncombe County.

Clayton-3844 and Clayton-341 appear to represent the same person because: I found this unadopted profile and adopted it in order to intiate a merge. I'm sure they are the same person. I am related through the Neill family that his sister married into.
