Private Rex Oswald Turnbull Clayton enlisted into the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) on the 5th of January 1916. His Next of Kin was listed as his father, Mr H G Clayton of 85 Kerferd Road, Albert Park, Victoria. He was initially assigned to the 5th Battalion, 16th Reinforcement and this unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A23 Suffolk on the 1st of April 1916. He went on to serve with the 57th Battalion before he returned to Australia on the 22nd of May 1919.
Rex Clayton is an Anzac who served in World War One.
