Biography

Mattie F Clayton was born about 1895 to Gilliam Clayton and Louvine Clayton.

Mattie, of New London, Stanly County, and Wm Adolphus Whitley, of Concord, Cabarrus County, were married on 9 Jan 1927 in Albemarle, Stanly County, North Carolina. Whitley was the 39 year old son of Green D. Whitley and M. T. Whitley, both alive and living in Albemarle. Mattie's parents were also both living and residents of New London.^[1]
