Daniel was born in 1804. He is the son of Samuel Clayton and Maria Hallom. He was christened on 11 Nov 1804 in Saint Michael, Ashton Under Lyne, Lancashire, England.[1]
Daniel Clayton married Hannah Mallalew in Manchester on 12 Jun 1825, when he was described as a collier. His wife’s maiden name was transcribed as Mallalion on their son John’s birth records in 1839.[2] and Mallilien on Sarah Ann’s in 1842[3]
