Taylor-Hoots Family Tree: Tracing the history of the Taylor family from Cumberland County KY, and previously from Chesterfield and Henrico Counties VA. Also, tracing the Hoots family from Cumberland and Clinton Counties in KY, and previously from Surry and Yadkin Counties in NC.

(One error in following excerpt: Document states that Shadrack Claywell Jr. was married to Amelia Rush, when if fact, he was married to Elizabeth Vaughn. Shadrack Claywell Sr. was married to Amelia Rush in 1799) "Claywell Family. Shadrach Claywell was the pioneer Claywell. He came in 1799 from Virginia. He was a private in the Revolutionary War, fighting with the Virginia Cavalry. Born in 1759, he died in 1838 in this county. His nine children were: Solomon, Sarah (Richardson); Jesse, who married Hannah Humphry, 1814, and reared family, most of whom left; John, who died at New Orleans, 1837, of yellow fever while on a trip to take tobacco, and who sent his will back to his wife and three small children; Job; William; ad Patsy, who married a Glidewell on Bear Creek; and Shadrach Jr., who married Amelia Rush and reared JohnAnderson, Jack and Micajah. John Anderson married Sally Appleby and became the Progenitor of all the Claywells left here. His children were Tom, Ed, Belle, Eliza, Frances, Lou, John, Jack, Robert, and Daniel. Ed is the father of all the Myers Ridge Claywells, John, Joe Lee, Etc. Daniel and Robert are the fathers of the Howard Bottom and Smith Ridge Claywells. The progency of Shadrach's children are given in other families in this writing. Four of them served in the Civil War. Dr. Daniel W. was one of the three orphans, born 1836, went to Texas 1880."
