Elisabeth (also Elizabeth) was born about 1834. She was the daughter of William Clazie and Isabella Purves. The 1841 UK census at Sunwick Cottages, Hutton, Berwickshire, said she was born in England... maybe that means Berwick-upon-Tweed or near it? Other information suggests that she was born at Mordington, Berwickshire.
She married John Brown in 1857 at Whitsome, Berwickshire and they went on to have at least 6 children born in Berwickshire.
Elisabeth / Elizabeth died in 1913 at Paxton, Berwickshire, where a monument says:
Erected by JOHN BROWN in affectionate remembrance of his beloved wife ELIZABETH CLAZIE who died at Paxton 9th Decr 1913 aged 79 years. Also the above JOHN BROWN died 26th April 1921
She passed away in 1903. [1]
