Biography
This profile is part of the Clezie Name Study.
Robina was born on 29 July 1868 at Paisley High Church in Scotland. She was the daughter of George Clazy and Janet Smith . She was named after her grandmother, Robina Bell, who died in 1861. (Some records show her name as "Rabina" but that seems to be clearly an error.)
Robina never married. The 1901 UK census showed that she lived with her unmarried brother, William Oliver Clazy, at Kerse, Duchal Street, Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire.
During the 1920s Robina travelled extensively by ship. In 1925, she wrote a letter to Eleanor Clezy in Australia. The letter said Robina was on a pleasure trip with friends to Palestine and was interested to learn more about the Clazy/Clezy family history.
Immigration records show that in 1926 Robina made an ocean crossing to Québec, then over the Canada-U.S. border at Niagara Falls, before returning to Scotland. She subsequently made trips to Gibraltar (1933) and Egypt (1935).
Robina passed on 18th June 1962 in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. [1]
