Owen Cleaver was born in Hillmorton in 1882, and baptised there on 11 June 1883, he was the son of Owen Cleaver and Rhoda Worrall[1]. His birth was registered in Q4 1882 [2]
Owen married Annie Sophia West in Hillmorton on 25 December 1906, their fathers were recorded as Owen Cleaver and James West. [3]
In 1915, Owen enlisted in Nuneaton, into the Royal Warwickshire Regiment, he was living in School Street, Hillmorton at the time. [4][5]. The records show that he had dependants Annie Sophia his wife, and children Harold, Cyril and Herbert. In 1916, he was transferred to the Royal Engineers, and saw service as a member of the Pioneer Brigade, and after then he became a member of the Labour Corps. Owen was awarded the British War medal and the Victory Medal. [6]
Owen passed away in Hillmorton in 1948, he was 65 years old [7]
