Biography

Mary was born in 1814, daughter of Jesse & Margaret (Miller) Clemens. She was married to Jacob Erb. The following was taken from Daily Record, Kitchener, Ontario May 24th 1893 Wednesday. "Death of old settler Mrs. Jacob B. Erb, residing three miles west of the town of Waterloo, died yesterday morning after a long illness. She was over 80 years old and has lived about 60 on the same farm where she died. Her maiden name was Clemens; her relatives live in the vicinity of Hespeler. She leaves six sons one daughter and a large number of grand and great-grandchildren. Her husband also survives her, though about 85 years old and quite infirm, having been entirely blind about twelve years. The funeral will take place on Saturday at 9:00 am at the home of the deceased. Her remains will be interred at Erb's Cemetery about 2 miles west of Waterloo."
