John was born in 14 August 1849. He is the son of Thomas Clemens and Ann Allen. John was baptised on 2 September 1849.
John was employed as a Wheelwright and lived in High Bullen.
At the time of the 1871 Census John wasn't working.
John was 30 when he emigrated in 1879 on the ship City of Berlin which arrived in New York. John made his way to Middlesex, Ontario.
John Clemens married on 10 December 1890 to Sarah Jane McDonald in London, Middlesex, Ontario.[1] Age given as 41, occupation Carpenter. Parents noted as Thomas & Ann Clemens of England. The marriage was performed by Rev W J Little who along with his wife also stood as a witnesses.
Sarah, born 12 September 1841, England, was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Simpkins/Sinkins. She had 2 marriages. Her first was to Hector McDonald. Her second was to John Clemens. She died at 195 Richmond Street, London City in 1911 aged 69.[2]
John moved in with his step daughter Florence Amelia (nee McDonald) and her husband Gardem Gordon?) Egbert McBurney and was living at 198 Richmond Street at the time of 1921 Census. Florence married Gardem McBurney, Widower on 3 Nov 1915 at Wellington Street.

John Clemens died in 1928 at 391 Wortley Road, London City aged 77 and was buried on 3 March at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Middlesex County with Sarah. Informant of John's death was his stepdaughter, Mrs G E McBurney (Florence) of 391 Wortley Road, London, Middlesex. NB John's father's name was recorded as Henry but given that Sarah predeceased him there was likely no-one who had factual knowledge of his family.
