Biography
Susan Jane Clement was born in 1834 to Ira Clement and Annis Maria Welch in Ontario, Canada. The family lived in several areas in Ontario. One son was born in Woodstock, Oxford, Ontario and another in Windham, Norfolk, Ontario. The family moved back to the states before 1850, first settling in Michigan City, LaPorte, Indiana, then later in Boone, Porter, Indiana. Susan Jane is mentioned in her mother's will of 1861 as are all the siblings of which I am aware. Susan is also in the 1850 census of Boone, Porter, Indiana. Nothing more has been discovered at this time.
