When Joseph Clements was born in 1783, his father, John Clements, was 23 and his mother, Mary Simpson, was 23.
He had three sons and two daughters with Catherine Irwin between 1820 and 1835.
Joseph, a weaver, arrived in Australia on 20 Sep 1859 on the ship Abyssinia from Belfast, County Down, Ireland with his wife Catherine, Son James, son Andrew, a farm labourer, and and his daughter-in-law Mary. He came with his family to join his daughter Catherine and son-in-law John McKenna at Kings Plains.[1]
He died in 15 Oct 1862 at the residence of his son Andrew, Brown's Creek, King's Plains, Australia, having lived a long life of 79 years.[2][3]
