Biography
John was born in 1787, the son of Roger Clements and Hannah Hathaway. Since his family resided in the part of North Carolina that later became Kentucky, moving there during (sometime after 1777, when his grandfather John Clements died in Rowan Co NC - or at least that's where his will was recorded) and after the Revolutionary War, he was probably born in what is now the state of Kentucky, but at the time it was still part of North Carolina.
He married first Nancy Hiland or Highland and had four known sons. He then married Rebecca Johns. He appeared with his family in the 1850 U.S. Census. He passed away in 1868.
John made his will on 14 Dec 1861; it was probated at court in Hendricks Co IN on 12 Feb 1868.[1]
