Biography

Shadwell was born in 1836. He is the son of St John Clerke and Louisa Waring.

He had been a prominent freemason, in the office of Grand Secretary. Son of General St John Clerke. He was born in 1836 and participated in the Crimean War. Later, as a second lieutenant in the 21st Royal Scots Fusiliers he participated in the battle of Alma. In 1875 he as appointed to her Majesty's Bodyguard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms[1]
